STANDING RULES

 

1. MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING

a. Shall have complied with Constitution and By-laws requirements for membership and dues.

b. Shall have complied with Constitution and By-laws handicap requirements.

c. Shall have participated at least six times in ABWGC activities in each three month period.

d. Any question regarding a member’s standing will be presented to the Executive Board for a decision.

e. Shall have participated in at least six ABWGC activities during the course of the year to be eligible for the Christmas Tournament.

2. SWEEPS

a. A Play Day for women will be held each Thursday morning starting at 7:30. Regular members pay pre-paid sweeps. The scheduled tournaments are listed in the membership book.

b. Twelve players constitute a field for sweeps. 

c. If play is cancelled for any reason, the assigned tee times are not carried over to the next week.

d. Winners of the weekly tournaments will have prize monies deposited to their accounts in the Sweeps ledger with the club Treasurer.

e. Winnings will be distributed at the Christmas luncheon, or mailed by the Treasurer.

3. MAJOR TOURNAMENTS

In the event of ties for the Club Championship or President’s Cup titles, there will be an immediate sudden death playoff.

4. SPECIAL AWARDS

a. Two golf balls will be presented at the end of each meeting as door prizes. Only members present or still on the course are eligible to win.

b. A gift will be presented to the out-going President from the members. This gift will cost approximately $35.00.

c. The most improved golfer of the year, and the Ace of Aces will be awarded $20 each. Their money will be added to their next year’s account.

1. The most improved golfer must have played one-half of her games on Navy North Golf Course and at least six of those games in the months of September through November.

2. All Players tied for monthly Ace (low net over the field held the first Thursday of each month) will be paid equally and allowed to play in the Ace of Aces tournament.

3. Monthly Aces will be paid from the General Fund and not from Sweeps. The amount paid to Aces should be determined the first of each year depending on the budget.

4. Should there be a tie of Ace of Aces, an 18-hole playoff will be held in January.

5. SPECIAL ACTIVITIES (Voluntary)

a. Hole-in-one insurance is available to members in the sum of $2.00. Moneys in the fund will be given directly to the person making the hole-in-one. The Trophy Chairman shall collect funds to replenish Hole -in-one insurance. No individual trophy will be given but the club will be responsible for engraving the perpetual trophy that hangs in the clubhouse. The person receiving the insurance is not expected to buy drinks for the field.

b. Ringer tournaments are run year-round. Each tournament lasts four months and the entry fee is $4.00.

c. Chip-in and closest to the Pin "Pots" are held each week and cost 25 cents each. Three places are paid for closest to the pin and the ball must be on the green.

d. A card is sent by the Social Chairman in case of the loss or illness of a member or a member of her immediate family. Any other collections are strictly private and voluntary.

6. GUESTS

While guests are allowed to play with members on an occasional basis, there must be another member of ABWGC in the group to fulfill the mandatory requirement for participation in Sweeps because your score must be attested by a club member.
